WatchCOLLEGE PARK, MD -- No. 2 Maryland (4-0) will play in Atlanta for the first time in program history in a National Championship rematch against No. 1 Notre Dame (3-0) at Bobby Dodd Stadium, the oldest FBS college football stadium, on March 1. It will air on ACC Network at 1 pm. The two teams make up the last three National Championship winners, with the Irish winning in 2023 and 2024 and the Terps in 2022.

With a win, the Terps will move to 5-0 for the seventh time under head coach John Tillman since he was hired in 2011. This is Maryland's third consecutive game against an opponent ranked in the top-five (Syracuse, Princeton).

Where we've been...
  • The Terrapins are coming off their NCAA-best 21st consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and 29th Final Four, tied with Johns Hopkins for the most by any program. The Terps returned to the NCAA Championship game for the eighth time in 13 tournaments and 17th time in program history. Maryland (11-6) won double-digit games for the 21st year in a row, the longest active streak in NCAA Division I men's lacrosse.
  • Maryland has wins over then-No. 18 Richmond, Loyola, then-No. 2 Syracuse and then-No. 5 Princeton this season, holding all four opponents to single-digit scoring.

  • Maryland got off to a strong start in 2025 as the Terps topped No. 18 Richmond 12-7 in their season opener. The Terps shut out the Spiders in the first half, 7-0, marking the first, first-half shutout for the team since 2015. Logan McNaney made 14 saves in cage while Binghamton transfer Matthew Keegan led the way with five points (3g-2a).
  • The Terps excelled defensively again at Loyola, coming away with a 8-7 overtime victory. Led by four goals from Eric Spanos, three of which came in the fourth quarter, the Terps erased a three-goal deficit in the final frame. Loyola sent the game to overtime with 2.2 seconds remaining but Shea Keethler gave the Terps possession in overtime to set up a game-winner from Keegan.
  • The Terps held Syracuse to just two second-half goals in an 11-7 win over the then-No. 2 Orange. Spanos tallied four points and McNaney made 12 saves in cage.
  • Against Princeton, the Terps had eight different goal-scorers and won 13 of 17 faceoffs in the final three quarters to help spur a 13-9 win on the road. Maryland trailed 4-2 but used a 6-0 run to take a 8-4 hallftime lead and the Tigers never got closer than two goals the rest of the way.
  • Notre Dame is 3-0 this season, most recently topping No. 11 Georgetown, 11-9.
