Each week during the 2024-25 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Physicians & Surgeons Terp of the Week.
This week's Terp of the Week is sophomore
Rodney Rice the men's basketball team.Â
Rice averaged 15.0 points, 2.5 assists, and 2.5 rebounds leading Maryland to a 2-0 week with a win at No. 17 Michigan and a home win over Northwestern. The wins helped Maryland secure the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Big Ten Tournament.
The human development major was 10-of-25 overall from the floor including 5-of-14 (.357) from beyond the arc. He was especially key in the win at Michigan where he scored a team-high 19 points going 4-of-9 from deep while adding two rebounds, an assist and a steal. He followed that with 11 points, four assists, and three rebounds in the win over Northwestern.
Rice and the Terps will open the Big Ten Tournament on Friday, March 14 at 6:30 PM in the quarterfinal round at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
