Kori Edmondson has been named Big Ten Midfielder of the Week for the third consecutive week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday. Freshman
Kayla Gilmore also received conference recognition, earning Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors.
This marks the fourth Big Ten Midfielder of the Week award in Edmondson's career. She played a key role in Maryland's 2-0 start to conference play, tallying eight points, six draw controls, two caused turnovers, and two ground balls. In the 14-12 win over No. 11 Michigan, she recorded two goals, an assist, and three draw controls. She followed up with a dominant performance at Penn State, contributing three goals, two assists, two caused turnovers, and three draw controls in a 19-11 victory.
Gilmore made an immediate impact in her first two Big Ten games, totaling two points and 11 draw controls. She had a standout performance at Penn State, notching a goal and eight draw controls in Maryland's 19-11 win. She became the first Maryland freshman to earn the honor since Kori Edmondson on March 21, 2023.
No. 4 Maryland is back in action on Saturday, March 22 when it travels to Evanston, IL for a top-five matchup against No. 3 Northwestern at 2:00 pm on Big Ten Network.Â
