COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Maryland hits the road for a two-game West Coast swing, facing Arizona State on Thursday before a Saturday conference showdown at USC in Southern California.
 
Where We've Been
  • The Terrapins are 7-3 this season and 3-1 in Big Ten play. This season Maryland has ranked wins over #13 JMU and #11 Michigan. Junior Kori Edmondson is the catalyst for the Terrapins offense and leads the team with 36 points and 29 goals. Grad student Chrissy Thomas leads the team with 16 assists. Defensively, the Terps are anchored by captains Kennedy Major and Neve O'Ferrall. 
  • The Terps are coming off a 1-1 weekend, picking up a dominant 16-4 win over Oregon on Thursday before falling in a hard-fought 13-12 battle against No. 15 Penn on Monday.
  • Against Oregon, three Terps recorded hat tricks. Kori Edmondson led the way with four goals, tying her career-high and notching her 23rd career hat trick and sixth this season. Lauren LaPointe had a career day with three goals and two assists, recording her second career hat trick and a career-high five points. Emma Abbazia tallied three goals, earning the first hat trick of her career.
  • On Monday, Maryland fought back from a four-goal deficit in the fourth quarter, tying the game at 11-11 and again at 12-12 with 4:51 left. However, Penn's Keeley Block netted the game-winner with just 24.8 seconds remaining.

  • Arizona State will host Maryland after starting the season 8-4. This season they have wins over Cincinnati & Vanderbilt.
  • Arizona State's offense is led by Teagan Ng, who tops the team with 43 goals, ranking second in the Big 12 this season. Jordyn Behar is the Sun Devils' top playmaker, leading the nation with 46 assists.
  • In goal, Katie Vahle anchors the defense with a 12.64 GAA and a .474 save percentage, ranking third and first in the conference, respectively.

  • The University of Southern California will host Maryland after starting the season 8-4. This season they have ranked wins over No. 21 Colorado and No. 19 Ohio State.
  • USC's offense is powered by Maddie Dora, who leads the team with 48 goals, ranking third in the Big Ten.
  • Isabelle Vitale is the Trojans' top playmaker, dishing out a conference-leading 36 assists this season.
  • Defensively, Annie Shields holds down the cage with a 9.20 GAA and a .457 save percentage, ranking fourth and fifth in the Big Ten respectively.

  • With three assists in the 2025 season opener, Chrissy Thomas became just the 66th player in Maryland women's lacrosse history to reach the 100-point mark for her career. Thomas currently has 121 points which ranks her 57th on the all-time list.
  • Kori Edmondson recorded her 100th career goal against No. 3 Northwestern. With that goal, Edmondson now ranks 57th all-time on Maryland's career point list with 121 career points.

  • On February 14, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced the 2025 IWLCA Hall of Fame, which included Maryland head coach Cathy Reese.
  • Reese has guided Maryland to five national championships (2010, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2019), 11 Final Fours, and 20 regular-season and tournament championships across the ACC and Big Ten. She is recognized as a four-time IWLCA National Coach of the Year (2010, 2014, 2015, 2019) and a 12-time Conference Coach of the Year.
  • Reese joins former Maryland head coaches Cindy Timchal (Class of 2017) and Suzanne Tyler (Class of 2018) in the IWLCA Hall of Fame.
