STATE COLLEGE, PA – Brayden Martin drove in the game-winning run with a solo homer in the top of the 11th inning, leading Maryland baseball to a 12-11 series-clinching win over Penn State in game two at Medlar Field on Saturday. Maryland is now 22-26 overall and 8-15 in Big Ten play heading into game three.
The home run was Martin's second of the season and third of his career. His homer was a leadoff smash after Penn State (26-19, 12-14 Big Ten) rallied to continue the game with a two-run homer in the bottom of the 10th. Andrew Koshy earned the win, his second of the season. He pitched two scoreless innings, including the bottom of the 11th and finished with three strikeouts.
Before that, Hollis Porter (2-for-7) blasted a two-run homer to right field in the top of the 10th. It was his 19th of the season, ranking tied for the sixth most for a single season in program history. He's tied with John McCurdy (2002) and Alex Pauley (1985).
Maryland also drove in two runs in the bottom of the ninth to extend the game, as brothers Chris Hacopian and Eddie Hacopian both hit RBI singles. Chris set a new career high with six hits. The last time a Terp recorded six hits in a game was Chris Alleyne on March 4, 2020. The last time overall a Big Ten player accomplished the feat was Penn State's Jay Harry on May 9, 2022.
Eddie Hacopian finished his day going 4-for-6 with four RBIs and two runs, as he also hit an RBI single in the fourth and a two-RBI triple in the third to break a 2-2 tie. He matched his career-highs in both hits and RBIs.

Aden Hill and Alex Calarco also drove in runs. Hill (2-for-5) hit a RBI single in the fifth, and Calarco drove in his run on a groundout. The senior leads the Terps with 58 RBIs. His total also ties him for the 15th most in single-season program history with Luke Shliger (2022) and Brian Jarosinski (2004).
Maryland recorded 22 hits in the contest. It was its third time this season posting more than 20 in a game.
