Six Terps Earn USA Lacrosse All-American Honors

COLLEGE PARK, MD – Six Maryland men's lacrosse players received USA Lacrosse All-American honors on Thursday afternoon. Will Schaller was named to the First Team, Logan McNaney earned Second Team recognition, and Eric Kolar was named to the Third Team. Eric Spanos, Matthew Keegan, and Jack McDonald were all recognized as Honorable Mentions.

Schaller earned his first career All-American honor after being named the 2025 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. He leads the team with 22 caused turnovers and has been a cornerstone of a Terps defense that ranks third nationally in scoring defense, allowing just 8.13 goals per game.

McNaney, selected 11th overall by the Denver Outlaws in the 2025 PLL Draft, picked up his third career All-American honor and his first time being named to the Second Team. Previously an Honorable Mention in 2021 and 2022, McNaney set Maryland's all-time saves record this season with 743, surpassing the 41-year-old record. He has posted double-digit saves in 12 games this season and is averaging 11.3 saves per game.

Kolar earned his first career All-American nod with a Third Team selection. A key member of Maryland's short-stick defensive midfield unit, Kolar has recorded eight caused turnovers and eight ground balls while helping anchor a defense ranked among the nation's best.

Spanos, a 2025 Tewaaraton Top-25 Finalist, was named an Honorable Mention for the second straight season. He leads the Terps in points (38), ranks third in goals (23), and is second in assists (15), continuing to be a versatile playmaker in Maryland's offense.

Keegan, a graduate transfer in his first season with Maryland, also earned Honorable Mention recognition. He has contributed significantly to the offensive midfield, ranking fourth on the team with 20 goals.

McDonald, a long-stick midfielder recently drafted 16th overall by the Carolina Chaos, rounds out the list with his first All-American honor. He leads the team in ground balls (42) and ranks second in caused turnovers (11), playing a vital role in Maryland's nationally ranked defense.

The second-seeded Terps begin NCAA Tournament play on Sunday, May 11, hosting Air Force at 2:30 PM at SECU Stadium. The game will be broadcast live on ESPNU.
