From impressive performances and professional firsts to first appearances with new squads, Maryland alumni made their presence felt during Hometown Weekend in Charlotte, N.C., hosted by the Carolina Chaos.

The action picks back up June 13–14 as the league heads to Philadelphia for the next round of matchups.

The New York Atas did not play in this weekend's slate.

Boston Cannons

The Boston Cannons picked up their second win of the 2025 season in thrilling fashion, edging out the Utah Archers 9-8 with a dramatic last-minute goal. Terp alum Jonathan Donville '22 made a strong return, contributing two goals in his first game back to help lift the Cannons past the Archers.

UTAH Archers

Although the Utah Archers narrowly fell to the Boston Cannons, rookie and former Maryland graduate transfer Bryce Ford notched his first professional goal in the contest.

Denver outlaws

Despite jumping out to an early lead, the Denver Outlaws came up short in their second game of the 2025 season, falling to the Carolina Chaosm 12-9. Former Terp faceoff specialist Luke Wierman '24 gave Denver a strong advantage at the faceoff X, winning nearly 60% of his draws. Fellow Maryland alum and Tewaaraton winner Jared Bernhardt also made his professional lacrosse debut in Friday's matchup.

Philadelphia Waterdogs

The Philadelphia Waterdogs opened their 2025 season with a 16-12 win over the Maryland Whipsnakes. The team's lone Hardshell, Conner Kelly '18, played a key role in the victory, adding a goal and caused turnover to the scoresheet.

Maryland Whipsnakes

Despite a hard-fought loss, the Maryland Whipsnakes were anchored defensively by Terp alum Ajax Zappitello, who tallied three caused turnovers and three ground balls in the game.
