COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The PLL returned to action this past weekend in Chicago following the All-Star break, and the former Hardshells delivered another strong performance.
The league will resume play July 18–20 in Fairfield, Conn., for Indigenous Heritage Weekend.
Here's a look at how the Pro Terps fared in Week Six.
New York Atlas
The New York Atlas extended their win streak to three with a 17–11 victory over the Boston Cannons, sporting throwback uniforms as part of the PLL's Throwback Weekend. The Atlas jumped out to a commanding 11–3 lead in the first half and maintained control for the remainder of the game.
The lone Terp on the roster, two-time All-Star Brett Makar, anchored the Atlas defense, helping limit the Cannons to single-digit scoring through the first three quarters.
Boston Cannons
The Boston Cannons did not have their best weekend in Chicago as they fell to the dominant New York Atlas squad. However, Bryce Young '18 made his presence known on defense causing two turnovers and collecting a ground ball.
Denver outlaws
The Denver Outlaws delivered a statement win in Chicago, defeating the Whipsnakes 13–6 in what felt like a "Terps reunion game," with 12 former Maryland Terrapins taking the field between both teams. The Outlaws controlled the game from start to finish, never trailing in the matchup.
Starting goalie and PLL All-Star Logan McNaney '25 continued his stellar form, anchoring the defense with 15 saves and a 71.4% save percentage. Since McNaney took over as the starter, the Outlaws have gone 4–0, and he now leads the league in save percentage.
On offense, former Tewaaraton winner Jared Bernhardt '21 led the charge with a hat trick. Fellow former Tewaaraton winner Logan Wisnauskas '22 also contributed with a goal, helping seal the convincing win.
Maryland Whipsnakes
The Maryland-heavy Whipsnakes fell in a tough loss to the Outlaws, but several former Terps made their presence felt on both ends of the field. Colin Heacock '17 contributed a goal on offense, while PLL All-Star Ajax Zappitello '24 made an impact defensively, causing a turnover and collecting three ground balls.
