McKinley Heaven Named Solomon Eye Physicians and Surgeons Terp of the Week

COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Each week during the 2025-26 season, a Maryland student-athlete who has shown excellence on and off the playing field will be selected as the Solomon Eye Physicians & Surgeons Terp of the Week.

This week's honoree is McKinley Heaven, who delivered a breakout performance in her first two career starts for Maryland women's soccer.

Heaven scored her first two career goals — both second-half game-winners — to lead the Terps to back-to-back Big Ten victories over Indiana and Purdue. The wins improved Maryland to 6-4 overall, marking their best start to a season since 2019.

Against Indiana on Thursday, Heaven sealed the win with an 87th-minute strike, breaking a 1-1 tie late in the match. She followed on Sunday against Purdue, slotting home the decisive goal in the 65th minute off a corner kick assist from Emily Lenhard.

The victories gave Maryland consecutive conference wins for the first time since 2022 and lifted the Terps to a 6-1 record at Ludwig Field this season.

Up next, the Terps head to the West Coast for a pair of road matches, visiting USC on Thursday, Sept. 25 at 10 p.m. ET and UCLA on Sunday at 4 p.m. ET.
