COLLEGE PARK, MD – No. 10 Maryland returns to action this weekend for two top-20 showdowns. The Terps will take on No. 12 Michigan on Friday at 5 p.m., followed by a match up against No. 8 Princeton on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Parking:
Fans planning to attend the Michigan vs. Maryland game Friday can pay to park in lot XV1 which is right across the street from the field hockey complex or pay to park on the top level of Regents Drive Garage.  Additionally, after 4:00 p.m. fans can park for free in lot 11B and 9B.

  • Michigan is coming off a 3-1 loss against James Madison University. Head coach Kristi Gannon Fisher enters her first year at the helm with the Wolverines.
  • 2024 NFHCA First Team All-American Abby Tamer leads the team in points (10), with four goals and two assists. Junior forward Juliette Manzur is second on the team with nine points off three goals and three assists.
  • The No. 8-ranked Tigers are on a three-game winning streak after beating Rutgers, Penn, and UConn.
  • Head coach Carla Tagliente enters her ninth season with the Wolverines. Her tenure has seen her take the Tigers to one NCAA Championship game, three NCAA Final fours, and five NCAA Tournaments.
  • 3x First Team All-American member Beth Yeager leads the Tigers in points (12), with four goals and four assists. Playing with her is 2024 First Team All-Ivy League selection Ella Cashman who is second on the team with five points.
  • Returning to College Park is Carla Tagliente, a Maryland alumnus who played for head coach Missy Meharg from 1997-2001. Tagliente is one of five four-time All-Americans in Maryland Field Hockey history. She is Maryland's second all-time leader in points and third in goals.
  • Princeton Associate Head Coach Dino Rizzo also returns to Maryland this weekend. She played field hockey at Maryland from 1998-2001. She was an NFHCA First Team All-American in 2011

Penn State recap
  • Maryland picked up its first Big Ten win over No. 16 Penn State on Friday, 3-1. The Hollamon sisters lit up the scoreboard with the first two goals of the night.
  • Both Josie and Jordyn Hollamon scored on a Maryland penalty corner (two of the nine that the Terps drew in the win)
  • Feliz Kuhne recorded her first-career goal against Penn State. She etched her name in the record book scoring her first career goal with a fearless diving finish. Her goal landed on ESPN's Sports Center Top 10, giving Maryland momentum as they charge through the rest of their season.
  • Fleur Knopert, Annemijn Klijnhout, and Maci Bradford all recorded assists to help Maryland secure the win.
  • Maryland led Penn State in total shots 20-3 and penalty corners 9-1.

  • Freshman Jordyn Hollamon was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week, her second conference honor as announced by the conference on Monday.
  • In just 37 minutes of action, Hollamon contributed a goal off a penalty corner and threaded a long pass for the assist
    on Feliz Kuhne's goal.
  • Shares team scoring honors with 10 points after seven games
  • Helped Maryland remain undefeated at home (5-0)

Championship coaching
  • Head coach Missy Meharg is in her fourth decade at the helm of the Maryland field hockey program in 2025, along the way building a program rich with a winning tradition. Voted National Coach of the Year an unprecedented nine times, Meharg has exemplified the tradition of excellence Maryland field hockey has become known for, a program with eight National Championships and 27 conference championships - solidifying the Terrapins' position among the top programs in the nation.
  • Maryland held the Pave the Way Clinic through the USA Field Hockey Foundation at the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex September 14th. 
  • Former Terps and Olympians Katie Kauffman Beach, Jill Witmer Funk, and Katie O'Donnell Bam returned to College Park as coaches of the clinic
  • Kauffman Beach played for Maryland from 1992-94 and 1996. She was inducted into the Maryland Hall of Fame in 2009
  • Jill Witmer Funk played at Maryland from 2010-2013. She was decorated player and became a volunteer assistant coach for the Terps in 2014
  • Katie O'Donnell Bam led Maryland to the 2008 and 2010 NCAA Championships. She was the third Maryland student-athlete to be a four-time First Team All-American
