COLLEGE PARK, MD - The Maryland Terrapins indoor track and field team heads north to New York City to compete in its third meet of the indoor season at the Dr. Sander Scorcher on Jan. 23–24 at the Armory Track and Field Center.
A peek at the scheduLe
- Friday is the start of the second meet of January for the Terrapins at the two-day Dr. Sander Scorcher in New York. The Terrapins will head back to University Park, PA on January 30-31 to close out the month.
- The Terrapins will face some of the nation's top talent throughout the indoor season leading up to the Big Ten Indoor Championships, scheduled for Feb. 27–28 in Indianapolis.
Last time out: nittany lion challenge
- Maya Valmon set a new school record in the 300 meters with a time of 37.29 seconds. She previously held the fifth-fastest mark in school history in the event.
- Taylor Riley completed the 600 meters at a time of 1:32:62 placing her sixth all-time in the indoor record book.
- Eva Rogers secured seventh all-time in the school record book after posting a time of 9:35.88 in the 3000 meter race and finishing in first place for the race.
- Jennessa Wolfe moved up the top ten list up to eighth all-time in the high jump after recording a 1.76 meter finish in the event
- Lucy Scothern hit a personal record in the mile with a time of 4:56.27 placing ninth overall.
- Bryce Hatcher also clocked a personal-best time of 7.64 seconds in the 60 meters and qualified for the final.

- Katie Turk moved up to fifth all-time in program history after clocking a time of 9:36.97 in the 3,000 meters to finish sixth overall.
- Maya Valmon recorded the program's eighth fastest time ever in the 400 meters (55.13 seconds)

- Armanie Coleman finished second in the 60 meters prelims at 7.55

- Maya Valmon holds the school record in the 300 meters (37.29), ranks second all-time in the indoor 200 meters (23.92), and eighth in the 400 meters (54.48).
- Rose Coats holds the program record for the 3,000 meters (9:18.23) and the 5,000 meters (15:54.62).
- Maya Mosley is part of the quartet including alums Katie Turk, Emma Pegg, and Emmi Simon who are tied for 10th all-time in the distance medley relay (11:45.76).
- The foursome of Ka'nai Bey, Valmon, alum Kami Joi Hickson, and alum Sam Payne hold the seventh fastest time in the 4x400 relay (3:40.05).
- Jennessa Wolfe ranks eighth in the high jump (1.76 meters).
- Tolu Akinduro holds third place in the triple jump (41' 10.75").
