COLLEGE PARK, Md.- USA Field Hockey has announced the 2026 Hall of Fame inductees, recognizing Katie O'Donnell Bam, the most decorated player in Maryland Field Hockey history.
Katie O'Donnell Bam is one of the most accomplished athletes in the sport of field hockey, with a career defined by excellence at every level. She is a two-time Honda Sports Award winner, earning the honor in both 2010 and 2011, and collected four First Team All-American selections along with four ACC Offensive Player of the Year awards, underscoring her dominance in collegiate competition. Her impact extended nationally, as she was twice named National Player of the Year and helped lead her teams to two National Championships.
"Without a doubt, Katie O'Donnell Bam, was one of the greatest athletes to wear the Maryland Jersey. She was fierce, resilient and calmer than calm in the biggest moments. She loved the game in her hands to dish or eliminate for game winning goals. She was the queen of acceleration and goal finishing. It was an extreme honor to coach Katie and on behalf of The University of Maryland and the department of athletics we send a huge congratulations on your induction into USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame." -Missy Meharg
Beyond college, O'Donnell Bam made history as the youngest player ever named to the U.S. Women's National Team at just 16 years old and has been a member of the national program since 2005.
