Terps Challenge No. 12 Nebraska in 74-61 Loss

Maryland hit 12 three-pointers on the road as three players scored 12+ points.

LINCOLN, NE — Maryland gave No. 12 Nebraska all it could handle in a Wednesday night bout that featured seven lead changes. The Terps went toe-to-toe with the No. 11 NET team in the nation, but the Cornhuskers rallied to win 74-61 and survive Maryland's (11-17, 4-13 Big Ten) 12 three-pointers on their home court.  Elijah Saunders had a career game on Wednesday night. He hit a career-high five trios during his 15-point performance against the ranked Cornhuskers. With 239 three-pointers this season, the 2025-26 Terps rank seventh all-time in Maryland single-season history.  Andre Mills led the charge as he continued building on his recent hot streak with his seventh double-digit scoring night in his past eight games. He drained three of Maryland's dozen three-pointers during his 19-point, six-rebound night.  Solomon Washington played a big role on a physical night with 13 points and seven rebounds. He scored a team-high 11 points during a defensively-balanced first half that featured five lead changes and a trio of ties. Darius Adams dished a career-high six assists on a night where Maryland tallied 15, which tied for the team's second-highest mark this season.  Maryland kept Nebraska off the board for nearly the first six minutes of the contest, leading 6-0, until the Huskers hit a pair of free throws at the 14:17 mark. Nebraska built out a seven-point lead late in the opening stanza, but a Mills triple pulled the Terps closer in the final minutes. A pair of Nebraska free throws put the home squad up 33-27 at the intermission.

The Terps opened the second half on a hot streak, netting 21 points in the first 10 minutes of play, but Nebraska responded with a 16-3 rally, dealing the final blows in Wednesday's Big Ten bout.
