
Maryland’s Season Closes With 75-64 Loss to Iowa in Big Ten Tournament

CHICAGO, IL — Maryland fell to ninth-seeded Iowa in the Big Ten Tournament 75-64 to wrap up the 2025-26 men's basketball season on Wednesday afternoon. The Terps used a big first-half run to build a lead, but Iowa rallied in the second half as Maryland finished the season with a 12-21 record.
The Terps used a 15-0 run midway through the first half to build a 21-10 lead over the Hawkeyes. The run marked the Terps' second-longest run of the season. In two games in the 2026 TIAA Big Ten Tournament, Maryland only allowed 37 points in the first half. The Terps took a 26-25 lead over the Hawkeyes into the break.
Iowa used a 21-0 run across six minutes in the second half to rally and pull away from the Terps. The Hawkeyes got 19 points from Cooper Koch to move to 21-11 on the season and advance in the 2026 TIAA Big Ten Tournament.

Darius Adams led the Terps with 14 points as he went 6-of-7 from the floor.
