COLLEGE PARK, MD - The Maryland softball team returns home to host George Washington on Wednesday night in a midweek nonconference matchup. First pitch is at 6 p.m. in the Maryland Softball Stadium.

Maryland leads the all-time series against George Washington 11-3. In College Park, the Terps are 11-1.
The last time these teams met in 2019, the Revolutionaries pulled away with a 5-2 win in Chapel Hill, NC.
Keira Bucher leads the Terps in the circle with a 2.88 ERA. She has made 12 appearances, thrown one complete game, and recorded one save with 22 strikeouts. Caitlin Olensky leads the team with 39 strikeouts and holds a 3.60 ERA.
Sammi Woods leads the team with 34 hits (.395 AVG), Anna McGowan has a team leading seven home runs and is tied for first on the team with five doubles.
In head coach Lauren Karn's first two years leading the Terps, she compiled a 42-61 overall record while coaching two All-Big Ten selections and earning three victories over Top-25 opponents.
Maryland will host the 2026 Big Ten Softball Tournament at the Maryland Softball Stadium, May 6-9. This will be the first year College Park will host the Big Ten Softball Tournament. Maryland's last win in the Tournament was in 2024, where the No. 10 ranked Terrapins upset No. 7 Penn State, 3-1 in nine innings.

The Terps went 0-3 against the No. 21 ranked Washington Huskies.
In game one, Anna McGowan recorded an RBI double. Mariah Penta hit a solo home run, her third of the year.
It was a pitchers duel in game two. Caitlin Olensky held the Huskies scoreless through four innings and limited Washington to five hits. Murphy, McGowan, Turner, and Benson all recorded a hit.
Zayda Rocke homered in the last game of the series, her fifth of the year. Caitlyn Cornwell recorded a base hit.

The 2026 Terps have etched their name in the record book, recording 18 hits against Providence (2/28), placing them fifth all-time for hits as a team in a single game.
Anna McGowan is tied for second in Maryland Softball history for RBIs in a single game, recording six against Providence (2/28).
Maryland also recorded four home runs in the 8-1 win against Fairfield (2/28), which ties for third all-time in the record book for home runs in a single game.
In game one of the series against Rutgers, Maryland played a 12 inning game which tied for the second longest game in program history. Maryland's longest game spanned 14 innings in a 4-2 loss against Florida State in March of 2007.

Recently, the university finished the new Softball Player Development Center, which provides a 5,800-square-foot, climate controlled indoor facility outfitted for both hitting and pitching, leveraging performance analytics and modern training technology.
