COLLEGE PARK, MD — Maryland women's lacrosse has been named the No. 1 team in the country by the IWLCA and is the last remaining unbeaten team at 12–0.
This season, the Terps have five ranked wins over No. 13 Syracuse, No. 12 Virginia, No. 14 Princeton, No. 7 Johns Hopkins, and No. 21 Penn State.
This marks the 10th season in the last 14 years that Maryland has been ranked No. 1 at some point during the season.
The Terps now have five players on the Tewaaraton Award Watch List. Lauren LaPointe became the latest addition, earning a spot during the second round of selections announced by the Tewaaraton Foundation. Kristen Shanahan was added in the first round, while Kori Edmondson, Kayla Gilmore, and JJ Suriano were all named to the initial watch list ahead of the season.
Maryland returns to action on April 4, hosting Rutgers at 12 p.m. for Senior Day.
