COLLEGE PARK, MD — Lauren LaPointe and Kori Edmondson earned Big Ten Weekly Awards, the conference announced Tuesday.
LaPointe was named Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career after a record-breaking performance. She totaled 11 goals across two games to help Maryland remain unbeaten. Against No. 7 Johns Hopkins, LaPointe recorded a career-high 10 points with seven goals and three assists. She followed that performance with four goals in Sunday's win over No. 21 Penn State.
Edmondson was named Big Ten Midfielder of the Week for the seventh time in her career and the second time this season. She delivered a standout all-around effort in two games for the Terps. Against No. 7 Johns Hopkins, Edmondson tallied two goals, one assist, and five caused turnovers. She added three goals and five draw controls in Sunday's win over No. 21 Penn State, helping Maryland remain undefeated.
Maryland returns to action on April 4, hosting Rutgers at 12 p.m. for Senior Day.
