Maryland Track And Field To Open Outdoor Season With Trip To Long Beach

COLLEGE PARK, MD - The Maryland Terrapins Track and Field team will head to Long Beach this weekend to open up the outdoor portion of the 2026 season. Competition will begin on Friday at 2:00 pm and 1:00 pm on Saturday.

Friday marks the start of the outdoor schedule and the first meet of March for the Maryland Terrapins.
The Terrapins are set to compete in three total meets in March, taking place at UCF March 20-21 and Navy on March 28th.

Tolu Akinduro set a new school record in the Triple Jump, the senior broke a 24-year old record at a distance of 13.36 meters.
Taylor Riley ran a time of 1:31.31 in the 600 meters to move up to fourth all-time in the event
Morgan Graham set a new ninth best all-time mark in program history in the weight throw at 18.95 meters to place 19th overall in the field.
Jasmine Sharps tied for tenth all-time in the 60 meters, turning in a time of 7.59 seconds.
Jennessa Wolfe placed ninth overall in the high jump reaching a height of 1.75 meters.
Payton Jones set a new personal best in the long jump at a distance of 5.71 meters.
Ashley Thomas set a new personal best in the 60 meter hurdles, turning a time of 8.81.
Maya Valmon secured a fourth place overall finish in the 400 meter final at a clip of 52.86 seconds.
Ka'nai Bey, Maya Mosley, Taylor Riley and Maya Valmon set a new fifth best all-time mark in the 4x400 meters at a clip of 3:38.84.
Annika Metzger, Taylor Riley, Lucy Scothern, and Eva Rogers ran a time of 11:38.48 in the distance medley relay which was the seventh best all-time mark in the event.

Armanie Coleman owns the third best mark in program history in the 100 meters at a time of 11.56 seconds and the third best time in the 200 meters at a mark of 23.91 seconds.
