Lauren LaPointe and Kori Edmondson combined for eight goals and six assists as Maryland marked its best start to a season since 2022.
HEMPSTEAD, NY — No. 3 Maryland took care of business on the road, defeating Hofstra 16-9 to move to 6-0 on the season to mark the Terps' best start since 2022. Lauren LaPointe tallied a career-high eight points with four goals and four assists while Kori Edmondson netted her second straight four-goal game as the Terps moved to 4-0 on the road in 2026.
1st Quarter:
It took Maryland 22 seconds to get the scoring started on Wednesday. LaPointe found the back of the net for the 16th time in 2026, sparking a four-goal quarter that saw the Terps build a 4-1 lead. Maryland went on a 6-0 run across the first and second quarters to put the game out of question early. Maryland stayed ahead for the entirety of the second half as a blend of familiar and new faces added to the lead. A trio of Terps — Sullivan, Devin Livingston, and Sawyer Scarola — scored their first goals of the season in the dominant win.
