No. 3 Terps Dealt Road Loss To No. 11 Michigan

Lauren LaPointe scored her 50th goal of the season on Thursday.

ANN ARBOR, MI — The No. 3 Terps suffered just their second loss of the season on the road to No. 11 Michigan on Thursday night. An early run from the Wolverines lifted them to a 15-4 win as Maryland fell to 13-2 (5-2 Big Ten) on the season.

Lauren LaPointe reached the 50 goal mark in 2026 with her two-goal performance against the Wolverines. Keeley Block tallied a pair of assists, but Michigan grabbed its first-ever win over Maryland on Thursday night. Kristen Shanahan scored twice in the first half, but a 6-0 Michigan run gave the home squad an 8-3 halftime lead. The Wolverines improved to 11-4 (5-2 Big Ten) on the season and 6-1 at home in 2026. Kayla Gilmore snagged five draw controls while Leah Miller collected four, but another 5-0 run from Michigan in the second half killed the Terps' comeback hopes. Emma Bradbury scored four goals for the Wolverines. Maryland wraps up its regular season against Ohio State on Saturday.
