COLLEGE PARK, MD – The Tewaaraton Foundation has announced the 2026 Men's Nominees for the Tewaaraton Award presented by Stifel, with Eric Spanos earning a place among the nation's top collegiate lacrosse players.
The Tewaaraton Award is widely recognized as the preeminent honor in college lacrosse, awarded annually to the top male and female player in the United States. Nominees are selected by committees composed of premier college coaches, appointed each year by the Tewaaraton Foundation.
Spanos has totaled 141 career points, ranking 31st all-time in Maryland history, while his 99 career goals rank 19th all-time. This season, the attackman has recorded 20 goals and is averaging 2.5 goals per game, a mark that is tied for second in the Big Ten. His standout 2025 campaign included recognition as a USILA Honorable Mention All-American, a selection to the NCAA All-Tournament Team, First Team All-Big Ten honors, and inclusion on the Big Ten All-Tournament Team.
Five men's finalists will be selected from the nominee pool, with the finalists set to be announced on May 7 at the conclusion of the regular season. The finalists will then be honored on May 28 at the 2026 Tewaaraton Award Ceremony presented by Stifel, held at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C.
