COLLEGE PARK, MD -- The Maryland Terrapins (20-21, 5-13) will head up to East Lansing for a Big Ten weekend series at the Michigan State Spartans (14-23, 8-13). Friday's matchup will be the 20th time these teams have faced off with Maryland leading the series 12-7. The series will kickoff at 6 pm on Friday, followed by a 3:30 pm first pitch on Saturday and will close out on Sunday starting at 1 pm. All games will be streamed on B1G+ and can be listened to on the Maryland Baseball Network.

- The Terps moved to 20-21 after a convincing 19-8 win against Mount St. Mary's on Tuesday night. This marked the Terps' sixth win by 10 or more runs since March 31, when they beat Richmond 19-4.

- Ryan Costello hit his third grand slam of the season Tuesday night to move to 14 home runs on the season, the most out of any freshmen in the country. He now leads the team with 87 total bases and a 1.070 OPS.
- Jordan Crosland sent the ball flying on the first pitch of the Tuesday night game for his ninth homer of the season. He continued that spark with another two hits on the night for three RBI. He has the second most RBI on the team with 36. Across the last 30 games, Crosland leads the team in runs (35), home runs (9), RBI (35) and total bases (73). In that time span, he holds a .350 avg, 1.091 OPS, 24 walks and six steals.
- Paul Jones II lasered the ball with a 114 exit velocity for the Terps' fourth homer of the game on Tuesday. He totaled three hits on the night to move to 44 on the season. He becomes the sixth Terp to rack up 70 or more total bases this season.
- Freshman Franklin Pichardo Jr. crushed the ball 407 feet on Tuesday night for his second collegiate home run in just 12 at bats.

- Brayden Martin has been awesome in 2026 with a .352 batting average, .479 on-base percentage, 43 runs scored, and 58 hits through 41 games in 2026.
- Martin leads the Big Ten in walks with 40 and his .479 OBP ranks seventh in the Big Ten.
- The junior is currently riding a 71-game on-base streak dating back to 3/28/25 vs. Northwestern and set a new program record with a 41-game on-base streak to open the 2026 season.
- One area where Martin has leveled up his game is on the basepaths. Martin is 16/19 on steals this season after recording six in both 2024 and 2025. The 16 steals leads the Big Ten.

- Freshman Ty Kaunas has exploded this month. He is currently on a five-game XBH streak. He knocked a double on Tuesday night to put him at 14 on the season, to lead all Big Ten freshmen.
- On April 11 he went 4/4 at the plate to become the first Maryland freshman with a four-hit game since 2024. His 48 hits this season is the third most on the team.
- Kaunas has been finding some serious power as of late, he has four home runs since hitting his first against USC on March 28 to help the Terps get a ranked Big Ten Victory.

- David Mendez is on a 15-game hit streak that dates back to March 27. In that span, he is hitting .421 with a .529 OBP and 1.145 OPS.
- Mendez has caught fire in Big Ten play, leading the team with a .377 batting average.
- The junior has seven XBH in the past seven games: two home runs, four doubles and one triple. He has 15 XBH this season and has the second most total bases on the team with 77 this season.
- His 24 double plays and 112 assists this season both lead the team, showing his impact goes beyond his offensive contributions.
