JJ Suriano Named Big Ten Goaltender of the Year

COLLEGE PARK, MD — Maryland women's lacrosse goaltender JJ Suriano was named the Big Ten Goaltender of the Year as announced by the confernence on Tuesday. 

JJ Suriano has been strong in goal. The junior is 16–3 with 197 total saves, including 16 against No. 13 Syracuse, 13 against No. 12 Virginia, and 13 against No. 7 Johns Hopkins. Suriano has lead the leading the conference in saves per game (9.76), total saves (197), and save percentage (.511) throughout the hold season.

Suriano has earned numerous awards this season including being named to the Tewaaraton Top-25 finalist and was just named to the Big Ten All-Tournmanet mean for her performance in the conference tournament.

Suriano becomes the seventh Terp to be named the Big Ten Goaltender of the year with the last Terp winning this award was Emily Sterling in 2023.
