freshmen firepower
- The Terps' freshmen have made great first impressions this season, with both their bats and their gloves. Six out of the seven grand slams the Terps have hit this season have come from freshmen.
- Ryan Costello hit his fourth grand slam of the season on Tuesday night, tied for the most of any player in the nation. His seven RBI at Towson is the most by a Terp in a single game this season. He now sits on a Big Ten leading 58 RBI. Costello also leads all freshmen in the nation in home runs with 15.
- Bud Coombs joined the grand slam action last night for the first of his collegiate career. Through his 23 games played this season, he has five home runs and has a 1.117 OPS with a .323 batting average.
- Shortstop Ty Kaunas quickly became a household name. He is the only player to start every game at the same position this season for the Terps. He is batting .304 and has recorded 16 doubles, the most out of any freshmen in the Big Ten and third overall in the conference. He has been a force at the 6 with 20 double plays and 116 assists.
- Nate Hawton-Henley's first career home run came in grand fashion at Navy. He has 29 hits in 33 games played this season for a .363 batting average while earning himself an everyday starting role in center field.

Marvelous martin
- Brayden Martin has been Mr. Reliable this season as he is only one of two players to start every game this season. He has reached base in 48 out of 49 games.
- After a four-walk outing against Towson on Tuesday, he now holds 47 walks this season which leads the Big Ten and sits in the top 10 nationally.
- Along with leading the team in hits (69) and batting average (.354), he also leads the team in steals with 19. He leveled up his base running game this season after only getting six in each of the previous two seasons he's played for the Terps.

big cris, big plays
- Cristofer Cespedes has been on fire lately while on the bump.
- On Friday night he pitched the first six innings of the game, allowing only one hit which came after 5.0 innings of no-hit ball.
- Last Tuesday against Georgetown he came in during the ninth to close out the game and recorded a 1-2-3 inning with two strikeouts. This comes one week after he struck out the side to finish off the win against Mount St. Mary's on April 21.
