COLLEGE PARK, MD – Marshall Repp has been named the Maryland men's basketball Director of Strength & Resilience as announced by head coach Buzz Williams today. Repp joins the Terps after spending the last three years with the Naval Special Warfare Command in Virginia Beach as a strength and conditioning coach.
"We are excited to have Coach Repp join us! The variety of his experiences, including having been in this league, will give us traction immediately," said Williams. "Experience is always a factor, but never more important than the character and the intangibles that are paramount for any of our staff members. I have great belief in Marshall and believe the trustful relationships he will build with each of our guys will be life changing."
In addition to his time with the NSWC, Repp spent seven years with Michigan State including six as the Director of Athletic Performance for men's basketball.
"I'm honored to join Coach Buzz Williams' staff and be part of a program with such a rich history and tradition of success," said Repp. "The opportunity to work alongside outstanding coaches and help develop student-athletes at a place with this kind of legacy is something I'm truly excited about."
With the Naval Special Warfare Group, Repp was charged with designing strength and conditioning programs for Navy SEALS as well as management of sports science software for testing and performance analytics.
In his time in East Lansing with the Spartans from 2017-23, Repp helped Michigan State win three Big Ten Championships and reach the 2019 Final Four. During his tenure, seven players were drafted into the NBA and he worked with over 15 NBA players. He developed and implemented periodized strength and conditioning programs for both active players as well as those alumni in the professional ranks. Additionally, he worked in conjunction with the athletic training staff on comprehensive rehabilitation and injury prevention processes.
Repp initially began his time at Michigan State as a graduate intern from 2016-17 before being named assistant strength and conditioning coach working with men's basketball, women's basketball and volleyball. With the volleyball program, he helped MSU reach its first NCAA Elite Eight while producing four All-Americans.
Prior to his arrival at MSU, Repp was an intern at Eastern Michigan working with men's basketball, women's basketball, and football.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2014 with a minor in coaching and athletic training at the University of Northwestern – Minnesota. Repp played four years at defensive back on the football team and was a team captain in 2013. He then earned his Master of Science in Leadership from Grand Canyon University in 2024.
Repp is certified by both the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.
He and his wife, Morgan, were married in May 2020.
