As a Redshirt Sophomore (2016-17): Won 10 matches on the season at 165 pounds…wrestled in nine duals and at the Big Ten Tournament for the Terps at 165…won twice at the Southeast Open (11/6)…won two matches by bonus points at the Bearcat Open, including a pin over Sacred Heart’s Matt Fallon (11/13)…won first career dual against Lock Haven’s Jared Siegrist (11/20)…took out Garrett Tingen of George Mason by major decision (12/9)…won twice at Midlands, including a fall over SDSU’s Kasey Klapprodt (12/29)…pinned Clarion’s Ethan Okunas at F&M Open (1/7)…locked up fall over Michigan State’s Drew Hughes (1/15).
As a Redshirt Freshman (2015-16): Wrestled at 157 pounds…went 2-2 to start the season at the Bearcat Open (11/8)…knocked off Nigel Ruiz (Davidson) by tech fall (11/8)…won first two matches at Wolfpack Open, including a fall over North Carolina’s Bryan Halsch (11/22)…won three matches at the Nittany Lion Open, including two pins over Penn’s Joe Olivia and Army’s Donovan Peek (12/6)…won three matches at the Franklin & Marshall Open, including a major decision over Drexel’s Ryan O’Connor (12/30)…went 4-1 at the Messiah Open to finish second in the 157-pound bracket.
As a Freshman (2014-15): Served a redshirt season and won nine times in open competition at 157 pounds…notched his first collegiate win against Ben Cournoyer of North Carolina at the Wolfpack Open (11/16)…defeated Carter Page of Virginia Tech at the Nittany Lion Open (12/7)…earned a fall over Rory Gulak of Temple at the F&M Open (1/3)…won three matches at the Messiah Open (2/7).
Before Maryland: Accumulated an 143-30 career record with 80 career pins…holds Newark Academy wins record…a three-time district champion…a county champion and regional runner-up...a state qualifier… four consecutive first team all-conference selection…captained his high school team for three seasons…a Gene Mills Eastern Nationals champion…also played football and soccer.
