Biography

As a Redshirt Junior (2017-18): Maryland's primary dual wrestler at 165 pounds...won 13 matches overall...beat Brandon Dallavia of Stanford in sudden victory to win first match of the season...picked up four wins at the Road Runner Open, including a pin over Elias Edmonson of UNLV (11/19)...topped Michael Sepka of Northwestern by a 3-2 decision (12/2)...won three matches at the Midlands Championships (12/29)...beat Joseph Terry (Ohio) with an 8-7 decision in Maryland's season finale (2/18)...won two matches by decision against Austin Hiles of Michigan State at the 2018 B1G Championships (3/3-3/4). 

As a Sophomore (2016-17): Served a redshirt season while wrestling at 165 and 174 pounds…went 14-10 overall…won 8-4 over Army’s Graham Ratermann at Southeast Open (11/6)…won 9-0 major decision over Argie Burnette (St. Andrews) at Wolfpack Open (11/20)…won both matches at Mat Town Open, earning tech fall over Cochise Wanzer (Clarion) and decision over Lock Haven’s Ray Bernot (11/27)…notched 6-5 decision over Garrett Griffith at F&M Open (1/7)…won two matches at the Shorty Hitchcock Open, including a tech fall (1/14)…placed third at the Messiah Open, winning four matches on the day including two major decisions (2/4)…won three matches at the National Collegiate Open all by bonus points (2/26). 

As a Freshman (2015-16): Finished first collegiate season 9-11 with two Big Ten victories…went 2-1 at Bearcat Open, which included sudden victory win over Jordan Pagano (Rutgers) on November 8…upended Iowa’s Burke Paddock by decision 9-5 to secure first career Big Ten win (11/20)…secured 4-2 win at Grapple at the Garden over Hofstra’s Bobby Fehr (11/29)…posted major decision over Dean Vettese (Michigan State) to help Terps earn first Big Ten win over the Spartans (1/10)…posted fall over Navy captain John Keck at 5:41 (1/22)…topped George Mason’s Patrick Davis 8-4 (2/14)…sealed first Big Ten Tournament win with 5-2 decision over Dean Vettese (3/5). 

Before Maryland:  A one-time state placer...a two-time state qualifier...holds a career high school record of 110-21.

Personal: biggest accomplishment is wrestling and playing football in the state championship my senior year...hero is his dad...plans to be a teacher...came to Maryland for the academics, team and wrestling coaches...majoring in letters and sciences
