Biography

As a Senior (2006-07): Opened the season as a member of the first-place 400-yard medley relay team (3:56.21), 200 breaststroke relay team (2:06.58), 400 freestyle relay team (3:33.53), and the 400 individual medley relay team (4:03.14) at the FIU Invitational ... against Pittsburgh, Villanova and Richmond, won the 400 IM with an NCAA B-cut time (4:21.37), won the 200 breast with a season-best time (2:21.11), and took second in the 200 free with a career-best time (1:51.43) ... also led-off the first-place 400 medley relay team (3:49.82), and was a member of the first-place 200 medley relay team (1:45.72) against Pittsburgh, Villanova, and Richmond ... took third in the 200 IM (2:08.37), fourth in the 200 breast (2:27.08) and was a member of the second-place 400 medley relay team (3:51.33) against Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech ... finished third in the 200 butterfly with a season best(2:08.45), sixth in the 200 backstroke with a career-best time (2:09.98) and was part of the first-place 200 medley relay team (1:45.95) at North Carolina ... finished first in the 200 IM (2:05.66) and was part of the second-place 200 medley relay team (1:44.74) at Virginia ... at the ACC Championships, was a championship finalist and point scorer for Maryland in the 200 IM and 400 IM ... finished second overall in the 400 IM with an NCAA B-cut time and season best (4:17.62) and placed fourth overall in the 200 IM with an NCAA B-cut time and season best (2:02.14) at ACCs ... also finished 16th overall in the 200 breast (2:22.03), contributed to a third-place finish in the 800 medley relay with an NCAA B-cut time of 7:17.61, and was part of the 200 medley relay team finishing sixth (1:43.67) at the ACC Championships.

As a Junior (2005-06): Honorable Mention All-American in the 400-yard IM and also qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 200 IM...All-ACC in the 200 and 400 IM...won the ACC Championship in the 400 IM (4:14.77)...took the silver medal in the 200 IM at the ACC Championships (2:01.54)...competed in the 400 IM at the U.S. Open...began her season by finishing second in the ACC quad meet against Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, and Florida State in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:13.29)...won the 400 IM in the quad meet (4:24.49) and was part of the team that finished forth in the 400 medley relay (3:53.98)...won the 200 IM (2:07.04) against Johns Hopkins and Howard...set a career record in winning the 100 yard backstroke against Johns Hopkins and Howard (1:00.28)...set a career mark in the 1000 free, winning the event against Duke and Miami (10:10.85)...put up a second career record in the meet against Duke and Miami when she took third in the 100 free (52.40)...won the 400 IM (4:25.96), took second in the 500 free (5:01.91) and finished third overall in the 1650 free (17:24.56) against Pittsburgh and Villanova...set a personal record in the 200 free against Pittsburgh and Villanova as her swim of 1:56.94 was good for seventh...won the 200 IM (2:13.79) and took second in the 500 free (4:58.23) against NC State...part of the victorious 200 free relay team against NC State (1:35.73)...set a personal record in the 200 butterfly when she took fourth against North Carolina (2:08.29)...recorded another victory in the 200 IM when she swam a 2:05.17 to defeat North Carolina...took second in the 200 breaststroke against Virginia (2:20.02)...part of the fifth place 800 free relay team (7:23.92) and the fourth place 400 free relay team (3:32.31) at the ACC Championships...finished fourth in the 200 breast at ACC Championships with a personal best 2:15.56

As a Sophomore (2004-05): Qualified for the NCAA Championships in four events finishing 33rd in the 400 IM (4:22.11), 37th in the 500 free (4:50.95), 39th in the 1,650 free (17:10.91) and was a member of the 12th place 800 free relay team (7:17.05)...was a member of the 800 free relay team the set a Maryland school record, an ACC conference record, a Georgia Tech Aquatic Center pool record and an ACC Championships record, with a time of 7:13.26 at the ACC Championships in Atlanta...continued to swim well at the championships coming in third in the 400 IM (4:16.97), ninth in the 1,650 free (16:44.52) and 10th in the 500 free (4:52.27)...was named to the All-ACC Team for being a member of the first place 800 freestyle relay team at the ACC Championships...opened her first full season with a third place finish in the 500 free (5:03.02) against Johns Hopkins and Howard...finished second in the 400 IM (4:28.11), seventh in the 200 breast (2:26.66) and seventh in the 200 free (1:50.95) vs. Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech and Florida State...swam well at the Terrapin Cup Invitational finishing third in the 500 free (4:54.51), third in the 400 IM (4:19.36) fourth in the 200 free (1:52.45)...was also a member of the third-place 800 free relay team at the Invitational...won her first dual meet title in the 400 IM (4:22.51) and came in third in the 200 free (1:51.25) against NC State, Pittsburgh and Villanova ... came in second in the 200 free (1:55.09) and in the 500 free (5:02.92) vs. Duke...placed sixth in the 1,000 free (10:31.19) and in the 500 free (5:03.49) against conference rival North Carolina ... ended the regular season with a third place finish in the 200 free (1:51.88) and a seventh place finish in the 500 free (5:01.52) against Virginia.

As a Freshman (2003-04): Joined the team in January after visa issues prevented her from arriving earlier...garnered All-ACC honors for her third place finish in the 400 IM (4:18.02) at the ACC Championship...was part of the school record-setting 800 free relay (7:17.92) that finished second at ACC's...also placed eighth in the 1,650 free (16:41.29) and ninth in the 500 free (4:50.22) at the conference championship...finished with the ACC's fourth fastest time of the season in the 400 IM (4:18.02), the ninth fastest time in the 500-free (4:50.22) and 10th fastest time in the 1,650 free (16:41.29)...came in third in the 500 free (5:00.73), fourth in the 1,650 free (17:09.23), fifth in the 400 IM (4:30.09) and sixth in the 200 free (1:54.81) against Pittsburgh and Villanova in the first meet of her collegiate career...finished fourth in the 1,000 free (10:11.03) and fifth in the 500 free (4:59.12) against North Carolina ... placed fourth in the 500 free (4:54.92) and fifth in the 1,000 free (10:12.29) against Virginia.

Before Maryland: Attended Academy of Olympic Reserve in Volgograd, Russia, and William Byrd High School in Roanoke, Virginia...Russian National Team member since 1999...participated in three World Championships...participated at Junior European Championships in France in 2000...won gold in the 400-meter relay...took silver in both the 200 and 400 IM at the Junior Olympic Games in Denmark...set the 200 breast European record for 13 yearold girls...took seventh in the 800 free at the 2002 World Championships in Moscow...took ninth in the 200 breast at the 2000 World Championships in Athens...just missed the 2000 Olympics, placing third in the 200 breast at the Russian Olympic Trials...placed fourth in the 400 IM at the 2004 Russian Olympic Trials.
