Men's Tennis Topped By Clemson, 7-0

College Park, Md. - The Maryland men's tennis team fell to the Clemson Tigers 7-0, at the Tennis Center at College Park, in their final match up before the ACC tournament. The Terps finished the regular season with a record of 8-11 and 0-10 in ACC play.

The day marked the last home match for three Maryland seniors who have enjoyed tremendous success with the Maryland program, Ian Bliss, Troy Demers, and David Reichsfeld. "It has been a pleasure working with all three of the guys. They have brought a ton of leadership to the team, and they will be missed," said Head Coach Jim Laitta.

The Terps dropped the doubles point to Clemson, losing two of the three doubles matches to being play. Josh Brauser and Michael Coleman recorded the doubles victory for the Terps as they defeated Sander Koning and Ryan Cook, 8-5.

In singles play, Nathan Thompson topped Troy Demers, 6-4, 6-3, in the no. 1 singles match up. Ian Bliss fell to Sander Koning, 6-3, 7-6. Scott Fink lost to Ryan Young, 6-2, 6-4. Brett Twente topped Josh Brauser, 6-3, 6-1. David Reichsfeld lost a tough three set match to Clint Boling, 6-2, 4-6, 7-5. Ryan Cook topped Michael Coleman in another close three set battle, 6-3, 3-6, 7-5.

The Terps will compete in the ACC Tournament, which will begin on April 21st in Raleigh, North Carolina.
