As a Freshman (2012): Played in 17 matches, but missed a significant portion of the season due to an ankle injury...averaging 2.42 kills per set and 1.51 digs per set...knocked down 10 kills and added nine digs in a win at Clemson (9/21)...voted to the Blackbird Invitational All-Tournament team...named to the Villanova Classic All-Tournament team after tallying 18 kills and eight digs in two matches...had a team-high 10 kills at LIU Brooklyn (9/15)...tallied nine kills and six digs against Boston College (9/7)...finished with nine kills and nine digs against Ohio State (9/1)...had a career-high 11 kills, seven digs and three service aces in a three-set win over Robert Morris (8/25).
Before Maryland: Four-year letterwinner in volleyball and softball at Carman-Ainsworth High School...set single-season school records in kills (836) and digs (670) in 2011 along with holding the single-season record for aces (126) which she set in 2008...ranked by PrepVolleyball.com as one of the top-150 players in the class of 2012...was a finalist for the Michigan Gatorade Player of the Year and Miss Volleyball in 2011...named to the all-region first team all four years...four time All Big Nine Conference honoree...earned honorable mention status on the Michigan Class A All-State team as a junior and senior...played club volleyball for Legacy Volleyball Club.
Personal: Daughter of Michael Gold and Susan Wylie...has a younger brother, Michael...mother, Susan, was a collegiate athlete at Mott Community College...is currently enrolled as a letters and sciences major, but plans to pursue a career in medicine and would like to become an obstetrician...chose Maryland over Buffalo, Florida, Georgia, Grand Valley State, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Texas and West Virginia.
