The Story: Voted a team captain before the season and served as the team’s main vocal leader. Lee earned third-team All-Big Ten honors for the second time in his career after a red hot end to his senior campaign. Reached base in 31 of his last 33 games and homered in his final at bat as a Terp against Michigan.
As a Senior (2019): Played in and started 51 games...started 50 games at shortstop and one game in center field...led the team with a .317 batting average and .443 on-base percentage, both marks ranked in the top-15 in the Big Ten…his .497 slugging percentage finished 12th in the conference…finished with 60 hits, including 13 doubles and seven home runs…accumulated 36 RBIs and 38 runs scored…stole 10 bases…struck out 48 times to 29 walks and was hit by 16 pitches, the second most in the conference and the team…notched 15 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games…notched the longest reached base streak (24) and hitting streak (11) for the Terps…finished the season on a seven-game hitting streak…lineup positions: first (33 starts), fifth (2 starts), sixth (8 starts), seventh (8 starts)…earned Third Team All-Big Ten honors…Big Ten Player of the Week (5/20)…got his first hit of the season against Maine (2/22)…missed seven games between March 2-March 14 due to injury…notched three hits, scored three runs and knocked in four runs at Elon (3/19)…notched three this and two doubles against Creighton (3/23)…hit a solo home run against Indiana (3/31)…had two hits and reached base three times at Illinois (4/6)…recorded three hits and four RBIs at Northwestern (4/12)…went 4-for-6 with three runs scored against Ohio State (4/20)…notched four straight multi-hit games and three straight games with a home run to earn Big Ten Play of the Week honors on 5/20…had three hits with two RBIs and a home run at James Madison (5/14)…hit a walk off home run, one of his three hits, against Iowa (5/16)…notched two hits, including a homer against Iowa (5/17)…notched a pair of doubles against Iowa (5/18)…finished his career with four hits, including a double and a home run in the Big Ten Tournament against Michigan (5/24)…finished with eight hits in three games of the Big Ten Tournament.
As a Junior (2018): Started all 54 games...slashed .232/.375/.396 with eight doubles and 32 runs scored...drove in 18 runs and stole a team-high 12 bases...also notched a team-high 36 walks.
As a Sophomore (2017): Played in 59 games and started 55...slashed .307/.389/.474...hit eight home runs and notched eight doubles...recorded 36 RBIs and scored 36 runs...stoles 15 bases...Third-Team All-Big Ten selection...notched two hits, including a double in Maryland's opener against Ball State (2/17)...notched a hit and an RBI against Louisville (2/18)...notched his first home run of the season against Saint Joseph's (3/8)...had three RBIs against Princeton (3/18)...had a hit and two RBIs against Michigan (3/25)...had a pair of hits and an RBI at Rutgers (4/2)...had three hits, including a home run and a double, and two RBIs at Nebraska (4/8)...had two hits at Nebraska (4/9)...had four hits, four runs scored, five RBIs and two home runs against Penn State (4/16)...went 4-for-4 with two runs scored at William & Mary (4/19)...went on a 14-game hitting streak between May 3-26...had a home run and three RBIs in the Big Ten Tournament against Nebraska (3/26)...had two hits in Maryland's three NCAA Regional games.
As a Freshman (2016): Summer 2016...Played with Mat-Su Miners of the Alaskan Baseball League...Spring 2016...Played 19 games with nine starts…batted .172 with two runs scored and four RBI…made his collegiate debut as a defensive replacement against Alabama (2/20)…made his first collegiate starts at Delaware and went 1-for-3 with a run scored, RBI and a double (3/1)…walked once against Delaware (3/8)…appeared in two games against Cal State Fullerton (3/19-20)…started twice at Iowa and notched a hit and an RBI (3/26-27)…reached base three times and knocked in a run at VCU (3/30)…started at Liberty (4/5)…went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI at James Madison (4/26)…started in Maryland’s second Big Ten tournament contest against Michigan State.
Before Maryland: Played at St. John’s College High School…notched Washington DC Gatorade Player of the Year honors his junior and senior seasons…named the 2015 Washington Post All-Metro Player of the Year…honored as the USA Today Washington DC Player of the Year in 2015…was a two-time First Team Washington Post All-Metro selection…earned first-team All-WCAC honors twice…helped lead St. John’s to back-to-back WCAC Championships…batted .388 with 34 runs scored and 22 RBIs his senior season while also posting a 7-0 record on the mound with a 0.43 ERA and 58 strikeouts.
Personal: Son of Albert and Letisha Lee…father played baseball at Mount St. Mary’s…has one sister, Toni…lists his sports hero as Jackie Robinson…came to Maryland because of “the great coaches and academics.”…member of the honor roll in high school.
