As a Junior (2022-23):
- One of team’s top reserves averaging 5.7 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.
- Played in all 35 games with two starts and averaging 17.9 minutes.
- Shot .403 from deep connecting on 25-of-62 three-point attempts.
- Also had 20 assists, 14 steals, and 10 blocks for the year.
- Notched seven points and three rebounds in 18 minutes against No. 1 Alabama (3/18) in the NCAA Second Round.
- Posted 11 points at Penn State (3/5) going 4-5 from the floor including three triples.
- Had eight points, all scored consecutively in the second half, at Ohio State (3/1).
- Scored nine points to go with three rebounds in win over No. 21 Northwestern.
- Key minutes in win over No. 3 Purdue (2/16) with seven points and three rebounds.

- Posted a career-high four assists and matched career-high with four steals vs. Penn State (2/21)
- Became the first Terp with back-to-back four-steal games since Greivis Vasquez in 2010

- Helped guide high school to the CIF Southern Section semifinals and a CIF State Championship Regional Quarterfinal appearance as a senior
- Led JSerra to a 22-8 overall record and a second-round appearance in the CIF Southern Section Division I Playoffs as a junior
- Named All-Orange County, All-CIF Division I and All-Trinity League First-Team honors in his first year at JSerra
- Scored 26 points in the North Orange County Championships title game
- Played his sophomore season at Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary
- Guided the Cardinals to a 20-10 overall record and second-round appearance in the CIF-SS Division I Playoffs
Personal:
- The first Costa Rican to play men's basketball at a major university
- Son of Henry and Helen Martinez, who both played college basketball
- Father, Henry, was an assistant men's basketball coach at Utah for two seasons (2019-21) and spent 15 years with an affiliation as a player and a coach with the Costa Rican National Team
- Parents started the ProBasket Academy in Costa Rica in 2002 with the purpose of promoting and developing basketball in the country
- Has an older brother, Avery, and a younger sister, Noa ... brother, Avery, currently plays at University of Pikeville
- Grandfather was a famous chef in Costa Rica
- Favorite home-cooked meal is his grandmother and mother's pinto ... favorite player growing up was Derrick Rose
- Would like to get involved with his parents' basketball academy following his playing days
