On Rhine: Fast long pole who is good on the ground ... will be in the mix for one of the top three long pole spots ... a versatile player who has also played as a short-stick during the past two seasons ... has proven to be a tough competitor ... will also be used as a wing man of face-offs ... switched from No. 8 to No. 3 prior to the 2008 season ... joined by fellow Upper Arlington alums Grant Oliver and Max Schmidt on the Terps' squad.
As a junior (2008): Made his season debut in 11-6 win at No. 4 Georgetown (2/23) ... first career assists in 17-7 win at Mount St. Mary's (2/26) ... also had a groundball and one caused turnover vs. the Mount ... scored a goal and had one groundball in 16-4 win over Air Force (3/16) ... helped hold the Falcons scoreless for 44:03 spanning from the end of the first quarter to the final minutes of the fourth ... helped hold the Mids scoreless for the final 30:44 in 5-4 loss to No. 9 Navy (4/4) ... scored his fourth career goal on his fourth career shot in 9-4 win over Penn (4/19) ... also helped hold the Quakers scoreless for a stretch of 51:12.
As a sophomore (2007): Made his season debut in 16-7 win over Vermont (2/20) ... played short-stick defensive midfield in 13-4 win over Lafayette (3/13) ... helped hold the Leopards to just one goal over the final 45:22 of the game ... scored two goals, the first of his college career, in 18-3 win over Mount St. Mary's (3/20) ... also picked up a groundball and helped hold the Mount scoreless for a stretch of 37:29 ... two groundballs in 12-8 loss at No. 2 Virginia (3/31).
As a freshman (2006): Made his collegiate debut in 10-4 season opening victory at No. 7 Georgetown (2/25) ... caused his first career turnover in 8-7 overtime win at No. 1 Duke (3/4) ... picked up his first groundball in 14-2 win over Dartmouth (3/21) ... one groundball in 15-5 loss to No. 1 Virginia (4/1) ... one caused turnover in 18-2 win over Sacred Heart (4/18) ... one groundball in 16-8 win over No. 12 Denver (5/13) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Before Maryland: Two-time first team all-Ohio as a long-stick midfielder ... helped lead the Bears to a 19-2 record and a No. 23 national ranking in the final Inside Lacrosse poll ... two-time MSLCA all-Midwest ... a three-sport star ... also played football and basketball.
Personal: Son of Edward and Cathy Rhine ... younger brother of Elizabeth ... comes from the same high school as former Terps Gavin Webb and Brett Harper ... has a 3.197 GPA majoring in operations management.
