Before Maryland:
- Graduated from The Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, where he played with classmate Eric Kolar.
- Served as a team captain.
- Honored with the Team of 1962 Lacrosse Cup, presented to that member of the Varsity Lacrosse Team who through his outstanding play and aggressive spirit provided the team with a source of inspiration and optimism.
- Starred in both lacrosse and hockey at The Hill.
- Ranked overall No. 8 recruit and No. 1 LSM by Inside Lacrosse for 2022.
- Senior All-American by Wave 3.
- Played club lacrosse for Team 91 Maryland.
- On the ice, scored 19 goals and assisted on 17 for 36 points in his prep career for The Hill.

- Son of Chris and Becky Schaller.
- Father played lacrosse at Michigan State and Penn State.
- Mother was a gymnast at Michigan State and went on to coach in college at Towson. She was also a USA Gymnastics Level 10 National Qualifier.
