Cody Gambler was named the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance at Maryland in August 2019 after spending the previous three years as the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance. Overall, he enters his 15th school year at Maryland in 2024-25. In Jan. 2025, Gambler added responsibilities as the Director of Revenue Share Management.
In his role, Gambler leads the day-to-day operations of the Athletics Compliance unit, while also being the primary compliance contact for football, men's basketball, and men's soccer. He is responsible for the oversight of all athletics compliance efforts at the University of Maryland.Â
Gambler joined the Terrapins in 2010 and previously held the roles of Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance and Director of Compliance. In those roles, Gambler managed day-to-day operations of the Athletics Compliance unit and had oversight of all compliance related activities for football, women's basketball, men's soccer, and men's lacrosse. Additionally, he developed a comprehensive rules education program for coaches, student-athletes, administrators, and institutional staff members. Â
Prior to his role as the director of compliance, Gambler served as the assistant director of compliance at Maryland from 2010-13. In that role, he managed different key areas of the compliance office and served as a liaison to several institutional constituents.  Â
A native of Mohrsville, Pa., Gambler graduated from Alvernia University with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and psychology. He was a four-year member of the men's soccer team. Gambler earned a master's degree in sports management from California University of Pennsylvania.Â
He and his wife, Emily, have two sons and a daughter, Noah, Owen, and Clara, and reside in Annapolis, Md.Â
