Kaitlyn Gustafson

Kaitlyn Gustafson, MS, ATC

Kaitlyn Gustafson joined the Maryland sports medicine staff in July of 2018 and currently works with the softball & spirit squad teams.

Gustafson was previously a Master’s of Athletic Training student at Daemen College, graduating in 2018. During her time at Daemen, she worked with athletes from the football and wrestling teams at the University of Buffalo, men’s soccer and men’s basketball at Daemen College, and Nichols High School. Most notably, Gustafson was a staff member at the 2018 NHL Combine in Buffalo, New York. Upon graduation she received the Sue Roque Award, which is given to a graduating student in the athletic training program who exemplifies excellent clinical skills.

Gustafson also completed a program in the Dominican Republic in January of 2019 that helped educate former Major League Baseball players and coaches about injury prevention in youth baseball athletes. Due to the success of the program, the training now occurs on an annual basis and continues to educate coaches in the Dominican Republic.

In 2015, Gustafson graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo earning a bachelor’s degree in health and wellness with minors in exercise science and coaching. During her four years, she was also a student-athlete with the women’s lacrosse team.

Gustafson has been a member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association (NATA) since 2016 and is currently CPR/AED certified.

A native from Endwell, N.Y., Gustafson currently resides in Hyattsville, Md.
