Miranda Matias

Miranda Matias joined the Terrapins in September 2021 and serves as the Athletic Academic Counselor for Women’s Basketball, Softball, Cross Country, and Men’s and Women’s Track and Field. She enters her fifth school year working for the Barry and Mary Gossett Center. 

Prior to joining Maryland Athletics, Miranda spent two years at the University of Nevada, Reno where she served as the Academic Advisor for Men’s and Women’s Tennis and Men’s Basketball. Before Nevada, Miranda spent four years working as an Academic Performance Specialist for student athletes within the University at Buffalo.

Miranda is a native of Buffalo, New York. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo in Psychology before earning her Master of Science in School Counseling from Canisius College. 

As a former student-athlete, Miranda also attended the University of Alabama as a member of the swimming and diving team.
