Thomas Lenneberg was hired as Associate Athletic Director for Development in June 2024. He enters his third school year in this role in 2026-27.
Lenneberg helps drive the Terrapin Club’s strategy and operations and leads its stewardship, donor relations and events. He supports the Terrapin’s Club donor acquisition and retention efforts and is responsible for driving partnerships across campus.
Prior to arriving in College Park, Lenneberg was the Executive Director of Development for the Air Force Academy Foundation where he led annual and class giving efforts and helped drive more than $3M in commitments. From 2019-2023 he served as the Executive Director of the USA Triathlon Foundation and USA Triathlon's Director of Marketing & Communications.
Lenneberg spent nearly eight years with the Arizona State University athletics department. He served as an Assistant Sports Information Director for Sun Devil Athletics and later became the Director of the Sun Devil Club Annual Fund.
Lenneberg is a graduate of Arizona State University, earning his Master's in Sports Law and Business and Bachelor's in Print Journalism. He lives in Laurel, MD with his wife, Kristen, and children, Elijah and Noa.
