Jacqueline Taylor joined the Gossett Student Athlete Center in February 2022 as an Athletic Academic Counselor for Men’s and Women’s Track and Field, Cross Country, and Women’s Soccer. She enters her fourth school year with Maryland ahead of 2024-25.

Before coming to Maryland, Taylor was an Academic Advisor at Georgia Southern University in the Waters College of Health Professions. Prior to Georgia Southern, she was a Coordinator of Student-Athlete Enrichment at the University of New Orleans where she was the Athletic Academic Counselor for WVB, WBVB, MGO, and led the Privateer Community Service Program for the Athletic Department. Taylor’s other stops include being a tutorial assistant, marketing assistant and lead tutor at Georgia Tech in the Athletic Department, and Compliance and Academic intern at Clayton State University in the Athletic Department.


As an active participant of the National Association for Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A), and Women Leaders in College Sports since 2018. Taylor is the co-lead for the ECC P&I Subcommittee for N4A. Taylor attended and graduated from the Women Leaders Institute for Administrative Advancement 2020, and Women Leaders Symposium 2018. Taylor participated in NCAA Emerging Leaders in 2018.

Born in Ulm, Germany (Mom served in the Military 14 years), moved to Ft. Ord, California then to Augusta, Georgia. Taylor attended Paine College (HBCU) where she earned a bachelor of arts in English. While at Paine College, Taylor was a student-athlete for the Women’s Volleyball Team. Taylor received her Masters of Science in Sport Administration from Georgia State University.

Taylor is the proud daughter of Susan A. Taylor. She is the youngest of two, her older brother’s name is James L. Taylor. Taylor enjoys traveling, spending time with family, friends, shopping, working out, trying new restaurants, and would love to visit Germany, and Jamaica one day. Taylor is also a huge fan of the Baltimore Ravens.
