Sydney Anderson is the Associate Director of Student-Athlete Development for Maryland Made at the University of Maryland, where she leads career readiness and leadership initiatives designed to prepare student-athletes for success beyond graduation. After joining the Gossett Student-Athlete Center for Excellence as the Big Ten Diversity Fellow in June 2022, she was promoted to Coordinator of Student-Athlete Development in August 2023 and to Associate Director in May 2025.
In her current role, Anderson oversees programs and partnerships that connect more than 500 student-athletes annually with employers, alumni, and industry leaders. She leads the department's signature Career Exposure Tour, develops professional and leadership programming, and works collaboratively with campus and corporate partners to create meaningful opportunities for student-athletes to explore career paths and build lasting professional networks.
Before joining Maryland Made, Anderson served as a Compliance Assistant at Temple University, where she supported NCAA compliance operations and student-athlete services while earning her Master of Science in Sport Business. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Human Services from Lincoln University, where she competed as a member of the women's track and field team and served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
A firm believer in the power of mentorship and experiential learning, Anderson is passionate about helping student-athletes discover their identities beyond sport and equipping them with the tools to thrive in their personal and professional lives. Her work focuses on creating inclusive, transformative experiences that empower students to lead with confidence and purpose.
Outside of work, Sydney enjoys traveling, exploring new cities, building community through networking, and cheering on the Terps. She loves creating memorable experiences for students and is continually inspired by the resilience, ambition, and potential they bring to every opportunity.
