Nadia Hopkins

Nadia joined the University of Maryland in June 2025 as an Assistant Athletic Academic Coordinator in the Gossett Student-Athlete Center. In her role, she supports student-athletes through academic advising, eligibility monitoring, and development programming.
Nadia built a strong foundation in collegiate athletics and strength & conditioning. She most recently worked with Nebraska Athletics as a Strength & Conditioning Intern for Olympic sports, where she worked very closely with Men’s Basketball, and also supported Women’s Basketball, Gymnastics, Wrestling, Volleyball, Cross Country, and Softball. She independently programmed for the Bowling team, contributing to the development of athletes across a wide range of disciplines.
Her previous experience includes internships with Louisville Football and the USFL’s Michigan Panthers and Philadelphia Stars. Hopkins also has a background in private sector coaching, group fitness, and personal training. She is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
In addition to her work in athletics, Hopkins mentored students through Teammates, a nonprofit that began in Nebraska and now serves youth across the Midwest, providing guidance and support to students in need of extra academic and personal encouragement.
A former student-athlete herself, Hopkins competed in Volleyball and Track & Field at Delaware State University. After graduation, she served as a Strength & Conditioning Intern at DSU, working with various teams and leading the spirit squad. From 2019 to 2021, she also coached Track & Field at Middletown High School.
Originally from Manassas, Virginia, Hopkins holds a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from Delaware State University. Her passion for holistic student-athlete development continues to guide her career in collegiate athletics.

On Nov. 8 2025, Malik Washington rushed for a career-high 164 yards at Rutgers.
