Rob Carlin is the Director of Corporate Sales for One Maryland Collective. Rob is responsible for developing solicitation strategies and building relationships with local, regional and national sponsors. In this role, his goal is to drive revenue from those that want to support One Maryland Collective in hopes of recruiting and retaining Maryland's student-athletes. Ultimately, the intention is to help these student-athletes reach their potential and their worth as well as foster relationships and grow connections with our local communities.
Rob has had a long and winding professional journey that coincidentally started at the University of Maryland. Upon graduation from Maryland in 1995, Rob began a long career as a sports broadcaster, firs as a producer at Fox45 in Baltimore. From there, he made the trip over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to the Eastern Shore where he started his on-air career at WMDT in Salisbury, While there, he actually covered Andre Collins as an undersized, dead-eye shooter at Crisfield High before he won a National Championship with the Terps in 2002.
Then he went down South working at NBC13 in Birmingham, Alabama. He also worked at WMAR in Baltimore, WNBC in New York and MSG Network covering his beloved NY Islanders as the pre/post game host. He spent the final 9 years at what is now Monumental Sports Network hosting the Caps pre/post game shows. He was lucky enough to be there when the Caps won the Stanley Cup and even got to lift the Cup in the early hours of the morning after the game ended. Ask him, he'll show you the picture. He loves to show off!
Once the pandemic hit, Rob pivoted to the business world helping launch ScoreBreak, a start-up sports video analysis company, into a major player in their field. The last year was spent as the Director of Business Development with the Bowie Baysox, the AA-affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles.
Rob spends almost all of his off time ubering his twin girls around the state with their club lacrosse team... and loves every second of it. He met his wife Megan when they were both weekend anchors in Baltimore. She told him she'd never date someone with whom she worked. Yadda, yadda, yadda - they got married, raised a family and live in Annapolis.
