  • Maryland's 99-90 victory gets the Terrapins (No. 3 USA Today/ESPN/No. 3 AP) back to their winning ways after a five-game win streak was snapped at No. 1 Duke on Jan. 17.

  • The win extends the Terrapins' 2001-02 Cole Field House win streak to nine (12 in all dating to last season), marking the longest season-opening home court victory stretch since the 1994-95 Terps went 16-0 at home.

  • The Terp victory also gives Maryland a 4-1 ACC record -- its best start in conference play since going 5-1 a season ago.

  • The Terrapins totaled a season-low six turnovers in tonight's game.

  • Senior Wooden and Naismith Awards Candidate Juan Dixon made Maryland history against the Tigers, connecting on 4-of-10 three pointers to take over as Maryland's all-time leader. Dixon's new school-record total stands at 189, surpassing Johnny Rhodes, who made 186 from 1993-96.

  • The Tigers held the Terrapin halftime lead to four (52-48) thanks to their 69 percent 3-point shooting. Tony Stockman (4-of-6 from 3-point range), Edward Scott (4-of-5) and Jamar McKnight (3-of-3) had 14, 13 and 14 points at the half, respectively. Clemson opened the game hot from the field in general, making seven of its first eight shots in the opening 6:28, and finished the game with a school-record 15 (of 28, .536) three-pointers.

  • Five Terrapins -- Juan Dixon (game-high 23 points), Lonny Baxter (21 points), Chris Wilcox (17 points), Byron Mouton (14 points), and Drew Nicholas (14 points) -- scored in double-figures, marking the fourth time this season (Dec. 11, 2001 vs. Monmouth, Dec. 27, 2001 vs. William & Mary, Jan. 3, 2002 vs. Norfolk State) that the Terps have had as many double-digit scorers.

  • Baxter's 21 points gives him a new career total of 1,571 and moves him into 12th all-time in Maryland scoring history, passing Terp greats Greg Manning (1,561 points from 1978-81) and Laron Profit (1,566 points from 1996-99). With 21 points at Georgia Tech and a team-high 24 at Duke, Baxter averages 22.0 points over the past three games.

  • Explosive sophomore Chris Wilcox collected a career-high 14 rebounds to go along with his 17 points to mark his third career double-double.

  • Junior point guard Steve Blake dished out 13 assists to pass former Terp Terrell Stokes on both the Maryland and ACC career chart. With a new total of 597, Blake is now the second all-time Terrapin assist man, trailing career leader Keith Gatlin (1984-86/88), who finished his career with 649. Blake now ranks 19th in conference history.

  • Blake's 13 assists marked the seventh time this season he has totaled nine or more. His finished one shy of his career-high of 14 helpers, which came against North Carolina (1-9-02), and averages 9.2 assists over the last 12 games.
