COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Eight University of Maryland regular season men's basketball games will be moved in the Washington, D.C., market to SPORTS TALK 570AM, due to pre-existing event conflicts on ESPN980, the university announced Thursday.
Due to ESPN980's previous commitments to the Redskins and Georgetown, select Maryland games (listed below) will be broadcast on SPORTS TALK 570 and other D.C. stations in 2010-11. The newly signed deal between the university, Terrapin Sports Marketing and ESPN980 will eliminate all but the Redskins conflicts in future seasons.
The new affiliation with ESPN980 reduces the number of conflicts for Maryland men's basketball on the Terps' radio affiliate in Washington this season and well into the future.
The Terrapin Sports Radio Network carries University of Maryland athletics games and coaches shows throughout the state of Maryland and the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area on 15 stations. Voice of the Terrapins Johnny Holliday is in his 32nd season covering Maryland athletics.
Check www.umterps.com throughout the season for updated broadcast information on all Terrapin athletics.
