
Rozak Named To Academic All-District 1st Team

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Mike Rozak of the University of Maryland has been named to the 2010 CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District First Team for baseball, as announced today by the Academic All-America committee.
Rozak, who is carrying two majors in physiology & neurobiology, as well as criminology & criminal justice, is one of 11 members on the District 2 First Team.
The fifth-year senior from Darnestown, Md., has a 3.77 grade-point average and is a two-time winner of the President's Cup Academic Achievement Award, given to the junior or senior with the highest GPA on the team.
Rozak is also a member of the Honors Biology program, a nine-time Dean's List member and a Stanford A. Levine Scholarship recipient, given to one student at Maryland pursuing a career in the health field.
On the field, Rozak has played in 45 games as an outfielder for the Terps this season and is hitting .262, including eight doubles and seven stolen bases.
Nominations and voting for the Academic All-America programs are conducted by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America. There is a University Division (Division I programs) and a College Division (DII, DIII, NAIA, NJCAA programs).
Three Academic All-District teams are chosen in each of the eight districts, with those on the All-District first teams placed on the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.
