Storyline
Maryland faces Florida State in the lone matchup of the regular season between the Terrapins and Seminoles. The Terrapins are tied for sixth place in the Atlantic Coast Conference and sit only a half-game out of fifth. The Seminoles are in third, a full game behind North Carolina and two games ahead of Virginia Tech, pending Tuesday's Hokie visit to Wake Forest.
The Terrapins won both meetings with Florida State a year ago, earning a 77-68 triumph at Comcast Center and a 71-67 victory in Tallahassee. Maryland comes into the matchup having won its last three straight at home and carrying a 13-3 home record into the matchup.
Freshman guard Terrell Stoglin was named the ACC Rookie of the Week on Monday. He posted back-to-back 25-point games last week at Virginia Tech and at home against NC State on Sunday. He is the sixth ACC player to have consecutive games of at least 25 points this season. In his last four games, he is averaging 19.8 points and 6.5 assists, and has raised his scoring average from 9.0 to 10.6 ppg.
Sophomore center Jordan Williams is five rebounds away from 600 for his career. He would be the second Terrapin and seventh player in ACC history to reach that plateau as a sophomore. He currently leads the league in rebounding and could be the first Maryland player to lead the ACC on the boards since Joe Smith had 10.7 rpg in 1993-94.
Maryland has been strong at the line of late. In its last seven games, the Terps have hit .775 at the line, including an .898 effort (44-for-49) in the last two outings. Maryland went 23-of-25 against NC State.
Scouting the Seminoles
