COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Former Maryland pitcher Brett Cecil finished his run in the 2016 MLB Postseason as the Toronto Blue Jays fell to the Cleveland Indians in the American League Championship Series Wednesday evening.
Cecil tossed three and a third innings against the Indians, striking out four without giving up a hit. For the postseason, Cecil notched a spotless 0.00 ERA in four innings pitched. He was bidding to become the first Maryland player to play in the World Series since Ron Swoboda (1969).
For his postseason career, the 2013 MLB All-Star has struck out six in six innings without giving up a run.
