COLLEGE PARK, MD -- The Maryland Terrapins (22-26) will make the quick trip to Towson this Tuesday for a local matchup against the Towson Tigers (18-27). This will be the 84th matchup between these two teams and second this season. The Terps took the first game of the season with a convincing 15-7 win. First pitch is set for 3 pm and the game can be watched on FloSports or listened to on Maryland Baseball Network.

- The Terps moved to 22-26 overall and 6-18 after a home weekend against the Michigan Wolverines.
- Lance Williams had a staggering nine strikeouts through 4.0 innings pitched on Friday.

freshmen firepower
- The Terps have an impressive freshmen class that has stood out as the season has gone on.
- Shortstop Ty Kaunas has started every game for the Terps this season. He has 22 XBH hits this season, including 16 doubles which leads all freshmen in the Big Ten. He has also impressed from the 6 on defense with 20 double plays and 112 assists.
- Nate Hawton-Henley, who started all three games this weekend, got multiple hits in all three games. He has 28 hits through the 32 games he played this season, along with 16 RBI.
- Dual-athlete Bud Coombs has been electric on both sides of play to start his career off. He has a 1.062 OPS with 10 XBH through 22 games played. On Sunday afternoon he had an impressive outing in right-field, including a top drawer, home-run robbery.
- Ryan Costello leads the Terps in XBH with 23, including 14 home runs. He currently leads all freshmen in the nation in home runs.

- Brayden Martin has been Mr. Reliable this season as he is only one of two players to start every game this season. He has reached base in 47 out of 48 games.
- His 43 walks this season leads the Big Ten and sits in the top 15 nationally.
- Along with leading the team in hits (49) and batting average (.354), he also leads the team in steals with 18. He leveled up his base running game this season after only getting six in each of the previous two seasons he's played for the Terps.

big cris, big plays
- Cristofer Cespedes has been on fire lately while on the bump.
- On Friday night he pitched the first six innings of the game, allowing only one hit which came after 5.0 innings of no-hit ball.
- Last Tuesday against Georgetown he came in during the ninth to close out the game and recorded a 1-2-3 inning with two strikeouts. This comes one week after he struck out the side to finish off the win against Mount St. Mary's on April 21.

David Mendez hit his fourth conference home run on Sunday. He leads the team in conference play with a .376 batting average, 35 hits, .602 slugging percentage and seven doubles.
- Overall, he leads the team in total bases with 95 and has 20 XBH on the season. His base running has been elite too with 42 runs and 10 stolen bases.
- On the defensive side of the ball he has been just as efficient. His 120 assist and 25 double plays lead the team.
