Terps Close Fall Slate at Kitty Harrison Invite

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- The Maryland women's tennis team closed out its fall slate last weekend, participating in the Kitty Harrison Invitational, hosted by the University of North Carolina.
The Terrapins were led by the strong individual efforts of Anastasiia Gevel and Saya Usui. Gevel posted an impressive 3-0 record on the weekend, while Usui went 2-1.
The weekend also saw senior Arnelle Sullivan win her first match since returning from a knee injury last season. The New York native topped Sofia Edo of Elon, 6-4, 6-2, to capture her first victory of the season.
Kansas transfer Amber Policare also earned a victory, beating Tahlia Van Der Eerden of UNC-Charlotte, 1-6, 6-2, 1-0 (9).
The Terrapins will now take a break in action before returning for their spring season in January. The Terrapins will begin their spring slate on Jan. 27, taking on Navy in Annapolis. For more information on Maryland's spring schedule, please click here.
