As a Junior (2018-19): Competed in four singles matches including three Big Ten contests...won three doubles outings with partner Katsiaryna Yemelyanenka while playing at the third doubles position...all three victories came in conference action.
As a Freshman (2016-17): Won the doubles bracket at the Tribe Invitational in the fall...
Before Maryland: Grew up in Yokohama, Japan…played for Hinode High School in Tokyo…highest ITF ranking is 234…won three ITF tournament titles in singles and two in doubles.
Personal: Daughter of Akira Usui and Kimiko Usui…has a sister who plays tennis in Japan…earned a 4.0 GPA in her junior and senior years of high school…came to Maryland because of the coaches, academics and location…hobbies include watching baseball, traveling and listening to music.
